Auskick/U8s (5-8 years)

The Magpies Auskick program will take place on Sunday mornings at Balmoral Oval, Balmoral Road Reserve Sports Complex, Kellyville.

Kids have the opportunity to learn basic Australian Football skills in an enjoyable, safe and flexible format. The weekly sessions build fundamental motor skills and help kids learn what it means to play as part of a team. Although session plans vary week-to-week, most will incorporate elements of structured skill development, along with free play opportunities. There is no tackling.

Parents are actively encouraged to be involved during the Auskick sessions. No previous footy skills are required. Kids love to have a parent out there helping the coach as they develop their skills.

Throughout the season, we award player of the week trophies. There are also dress-up days, fun-filled Gala Days run by the AFL and opportunities to play at half-time during the Toyota AFL Premiership games held at GIANTS Stadium at Sydney Olympic Park.

It really is loads of fun and a great introduction to the sport for boys and girls.

Our Auskick program also includes our U8s format.

For those Auskickers who are ready for an extra challenge and/or preparing to move into Junior Club football, we arrange short friendly games of 3 x 15 minute thirds against other clubs in the area. These games take place during the Sunday morning Auskick sessions. They are non-contact and closely supervised by U8 team coaches.

Fees for Auskick/U8s

The fee for Season 2025 is $150. The NSW Government’s Active and Creative Kids voucher can be used to reduce the fee by $50.

In addition to a backpack filled with goodies from the AFL, players also receive a Magpies playing jersey as part of their registration fee.

How do I register?

Registering for Auskick/U8s with the Magpies is an online registration process through PlayHQ. Registrations for Season 2025 will open on 1 November 2024.
